A pilot project with Lite-House where Enwa Badeanlegg has been responsible for the technical solutions with water treatment, energy systems and automation. The system can be controlled and read remotely.

Construction

A floating 25 meter pool with a width of 10 meters, for use as a pool for the guest harbour and as an open-air public swimming pool in Arendal harbour.

Technical solution

The pool is made of sandwich material by CSUB Arendal. The construction also contains space for water treatment systems, heat pumps and pool covers.

Technical room is part of the floating construction and all of the components are located below the water level along one short-side of the pool. The components are attached to the wall and floor, but it still provides some seafaring for the fitters.

Standard components

The delivery for Enwa consisted of components of standard design. As the water treatment system is not in contact with seawater, no higher requirements were set for the properties of the products than for land-based deliveries.

Efficient heat pumps

The energy for heating the pool water comes mainly from two efficient heat pumps. They are located directly above the water surface and nicely integrated into the design of the pool.

Modular construction

The pool is built in a sandwich material by the company CSUB, and measures 25x10 meters. Due to the modular design, the size can be adapted to the customer's wishes. Included in this delivery to the guest harbour was also a floating changing room facility.

Energy and Environment

The pool is insulated against seawater temperatures, and primary heat comes from efficient heat pumps.

Successful pilot project

The floating pool in Arendal was carried out as a pilot project together with Lite House - an Arendal company that specializes in floating modules. Due to the low investment cost, compared to a pool on land, there are now increased interest in floating pools.

Enwa has gained some important experience on this first project with a floating swimming pool. Should there be more similar projects, Enwa has the solutions ready!

For those who love swimming in Arendal, the project has been extremely successful. This summer's swimming training has been possible without a wetsuit.
